In the time it took me to write up this review, I bought and used my second pudding pot. I haven’t enjoyed a product this much in a very, very long time. I am now considering a third.

THE BACKSTORY: Around 2024-2025, these “pudding pots” by Fwee were everywhere on social media. I couldn’t escape them. People would post videos with them and insert squishy sound effects that would rub me the wrong way (why am I like this, haha). I wanted to try these a long time ago and I could have. But I waited for the hype to, more or less, die down. To see if they were a crazy gimmicky marketing success or if they actually were worth the splurge. Turns out, it’s the latter and I love them to the point of owning multiples.

THE PRODUCT: The product comes in a heavy frosted glass tub with a rounded lid that matches the shade housed inside. The tub packaging is a nice illusion, it deludes you into thinking there’s way more product in it than there actually is.

Right away, you will notice the bouncy, mousse-y texture of the product. It is soft and has a silicone-smooth finish. It adheres well and is pigmented enough right off the bat. You can build up the opacity in layers as a single layer barely registers as makeup. I always feel like a subject in a Renaissance painting whenever I use this because I simply keep building up the colour in soft layers and can never seem to overdo it. It always has that diffused, blurry finish which I love.

That being said, you can overdo it. Even though it may seem unlikely at first. I’ve overdone it once and didn’t like how it appeared on camera. Go easy with the layers and you’ll have the most natural, healthy second-skin finish ever.

This is one product that is truly multi-purpose. It performs as well on the lips as it does on the cheeks. I tend to swipe some on my lids too.

I also love how long-wearing these are. Especially if you seal them with a Setting Spray. They won’t last through an extremely hot, sweltering day but then again, what would?

There’s an applicator that can be purchased with these. It mimics your finger-tips and is made of silicone. It’s not a must-have. Clean fingers work just fine. I typically just use my fingers despite owning a version of the applicator. I was watching a video made by an influencer who was pushing for the applicator to be purchased as well. She stated that the product will “stain your fingers for the whole day”. Girl, be so for real. Wipes exist. Soap exists. So, yeah, your fingers will do just fine.

A gripe I have with these which will be more pronounced once you scroll down to the swatch photos is how the shades can be extremely similar. The have a bunch of different colours and undertones, sure, but sometimes they’re so similar that you’re left scratching your head for a split second. I’d highly recommend doing as much research as possible before committing to one of these. Watch videos, look at photos and then decide what you’re going to get. I did so much research but somehow still wound up with two extremely similar shades. And the one I thought would be cooler toned turned out to be much warmer than anticipated. If you can go and swatch these in person, I would highly recommend doing that first.

Also, there’s a lot to be said about how these were marketed. You know, as if the mousse-y texture was entirely innovative and something we never saw before. But, of course, that isn’t the case at all. I remember my mother using similar products when I was a child. She used a shade from the line of Maybelline Mousse blushes (which were recently relaunched). My friend gifted me a mousse blush from Shiseido for my birthday once. So, no, these aren’t groundbreaking. It’s just very, very clever marketing. But they’re still impressive.

SWATCHES AND SHADES AVAILABLE: The regular line-up is divided into 6 colour categories which house 5 shades within them. There’s ND for Nudes, CR for Corals, PK for Pinks, RD for Reds, MV for Mauves and RS for Roses. A limited edition shade lineup under BS (Cool Busan) contained 5 cool-toned pinks. They have 40 shades overall, as of writing.

  • ‘PK05 STH’ – A supposedly cool-toned dusty pink, which, in my opinion is a much warmer pink than you’d anticipate. It’s still pretty. It’s just not a dusty cool pink.

  • ‘MV03 BADDIE’ – A mauve berry, as they say. But, to me, it’s way more of a cool pinkish berry with little to no mauve undertones. It’s a lovely shade and would work well across a variety of complexions.
