Orange you glad?

Hello, guys. With the warmer days drawing to a close as we speak, is it time to ditch the warmer blushes or lipsticks? Peaches, corals and oranges are the warmer colours in question and they are renowned for adding warmth to the face. The question remains, on cloudy and cold days, would you still go the warm way?

These two blushes in particular, are my favourites from the warmer toned ones that I own. They lean on the pricier side, so they were simply an investment on my part. Warmer blushes look extremely good on all skin tones and just helps in pulling a look together.

LANCÔME BLUSH SUBTIL PALETTE in ’01 PERLE DE CORAIL’:  At a hefty price of $43, it comes with a gorgeous set of three warm colours and a big mirror that doesn’t (ever) lie. It’s supposed to perfectly define your face, help in sculpting it, add colour as well as highlight it, hence the three coordinating colours. The first colour is a gorgeous coral shade that has lovely (and visible) gold shimmer running through. The colour in the middle is more of a matte coral. It does have a few flecks of shimmer here and there but it isn’t that noticeable. The final shade is a champagne highlighter with lovely golden shimmer running through. Since it’s a warmer shade selection, the gold shimmer flecks really help the hues to stand out. These apply smoothly and last fairly smooth. The highlighter, in particular, is heavenly. It contains about 4.47 grams of product. Another factor that might reel you in is that this blush is fragrance free. Check out more shades here.

CHANEL JOUS CONTRASTE POWDER BLUSH in ’55 IN LOVE’: It’s almost similar to the Lancôme blush in terms of price and packaging – the price is around the $40-$45 mark and the packaging is sleek and elegant and is accompanied by a (very truthful) mirror and a tiny and soft blush brush. In this particular blush, you see very fine flecks of gold shimmer and hues of coral, peach as well as orange. It contains 4 grams of product and smells wonderful. The USA has a pressed powder version of this product whereas this particular one is more of a baked one. These are a dream to work with; they are soft textured and  aren’t patchy/blotchy. The thing with these blush is that while it is quite sheer, you can definitely build the colour up.
