Review: Colourpop Super Shock Cheek in ‘Never Been Kissed’.

Hi, everyone. If you have an Instagram account or you keep tabs on the beauty community in YouTube, you’ve probably already heard of the brand Colourpop. They’re a fairly new brand and they are gaining popularity like no other with smart marketing and social media coverage.

THE BACKSTORY: After seeing Colourpop everywhere on YouTube and Instagram, I decided to ask my cousin (who lives in the US) to just get something for me to try out. I initially wanted their blush in ‘Mochi’, since it was more of a “me” colour. However, I wound up with this shade instead because I was feeling jazzy.

REMEMBER: Close the jar tightly after each use.

THE PRODUCT: The texture of this product is what you’ll notice right away. It’s like a firm cream blush, if you will. Almost mousse-like, but not quite. That being said, it is best applied with your (clean) fingers and in a patting motion. A stippling brush also works well, if you want a more sheer look. It is easy to blend and apply. The opacity is build-able. You can go from a sheer flush on the cheeks to a more saturated and out-there pinch of colour. The longevity of this product is also quite amazing; it easily lasts for 5+ hours, which is almost unheard of in blushes.

This particular shade, “Never Been Kissed” is a matte finish and was a part of their Fall 2015 collection. It is described as “dusty coral”. It is a deeper, burnt orange hue that I find is pretty even on people with cooler undertones.
