Hi, everyone. Let’s get back to our regular posting schedule and start off with something that’s fresh on the market. Revlon is one of those brands that usually never disappoints even if their prices are a tad too flashy for a high-street brand. Maybe they need a reminder that they’re high-street and not high-end.

THE BACKSTORY: Since Revlon has similar-looking nail polishes, I dismissed them almost immediately when I first saw them. However, curiosity got the better of me and I wound up getting two of these stupidly priced eye laquers. Do I regret buying them? I sort of do.

THE PRODUCT: When I saw that they’d be creamy liquid eyeshadows on one end with a glittery top-coat on the other end, I thought that it was a good idea. The thing with these is that the opacity and smoothness of the products differ from shade to shade. Some shades are absolutely stunning and are worth the mini-splurge. The others are kind of a total waste of money. The thing is, they’re either very creamy, smooth and pigmented or they’re very patchy, difficult to work with and just a world of pain. Oh, another thing, these feel tight on the eyes. I personally don’t like the sensation but if you’re someone who can put up with it, you could give these a look.

Personally, I was expecting something like the Rimmel Scandal Eyes liquid shadows. Now, those are extremely comfortable to wear and easy to use. They’re a lot cheaper too.

THE SHADES: I got 2 of the 7 shades available. I’ll tell you what, the shade I was anticipating to use the most, the pink one, was an absolute disappointment. I haven’t been this disappointed by something since the L’Oreal foundation disaster that happened earlier this year. Anyway, let’s break down the shades.

  • Burnished Bling – Now this shade, I like. The burnt goldish copper cream side is super opaque and easy to spread on the lids. Even the glitter top-coat shows up and looks pretty. Like it is supposed to. Again, this does feel tight on the lids but it isn’t half bad when you get used to it.
  • Fuchsia Flash – I was really expecting a lot from this guy. It’s pink. *cries in the corner* Pink is the shade I use the most whenever I do makeup. The cream side is a pale pink that’s patchy and takes aeons to dry and is extremely tough to blend. The glitter side is a disaster. The hot pink glitters are chunky and somehow not appealing in the least. I might give this a go over MAC’s Cranberry and see how it holds up.

PRICE: 750 INR for 3 ml of product (1.5 ml on each end).
