Review: Etude House Balm + Color Tint in ‘#4’.

Etude House Balm + Color Tint

So… I was supposed to review this product in February. But… I forgot. Life happened, I guess. I don’t know what exactly happened that made me push a February review to September but it must have been something serious. Better late than never?

THE BACKSTORY: I don’t even remember the backstory to why I purchased this product. It’s been too long. Gahhh.

P.S. I apologise for the shoddy photos. Again, I probably was feeling off back in February, when I captured them.

THE PRODUCT: What’s fascinating is that this product holds a moisturising balm and a pigmented tint in one. It’s split in the middle, as you can see.

The moisturising balm offers a sheer wash of colour and hydrates the lips well. It can be used on its own and I personally use it that way quite frequently. The shade can be described as a sheer pinkish-red.

On the other side, the tint packs a punch. It’s very opaque and has a creamy texture. It does tend to stain the lips and I find that it is longer lasting if you build it up. It lasts for a good amount of time before fading gracefully. The shade can be described as a vibrant apple red.

Overall, the finish is slightly glossy and it’s quite comfortable on the lips. It wears well, for 6 hours or so, depending on what you eat (if you eat oily snacks, it fades quicker). The retractable packaging is a bonus (I really dislike lip crayons that are meant to be sharpened).

I like that you get 3 products out of one, depending on how you choose to use it. Using the balm side only warrants a light tinge of colour on the lips, the tint side warrants a bold lip look and finally, the two can be used to create a gradient lip look as well.

Look, I even tried to make a gif photo of mixing the two shades together. Mixing them equally produces a lovely peachy red.

PRICE AND QUANTITY: $8 – $12 (depending on where you purchase it) for 2.4 grams of product.

AVAILABILITY: Etude House, ibuybeauti, cosmetic-love, w2beauty, jolse, testerkorea etc.

It’s been a while since this came out but I still think it’s worth looking into. It’s a great product and performs really well. For a change, I have no complaints about a product. It’s been a while since I’ve been this satisfied with a product. Maybe I should have reviewed this sooner. Lesson learnt.
