New year, new lip oil to obsess about? I think that just might be the case.

Colourpop finally launched in my country so to celebrate I wound up ordering a few lip products. While the review on their reformulated Blotted Lip formula is slated to go live soon, today’s product of discussion is their Lux Lip Oil.

Of course, my life has never been the same ever since I was bullied by my friends into getting a Clarins Lip Oil many, many years ago. Ever since then, whenever I see that a brand has a Lip Oil in their lineup, I tend to give it a go. Last year, I was borderline addicted to my Haus Labs Lip Oil so I would say my affinity for them has grown tenfold.

The Colourpop Luxe Lip Oil comes housed in a sturdy plastic unit. I absolutely love how plush its wand feels and how it hugs the lips despite having a flat shape.

The formula is quite hydrating. On dry and bare lips, the formula feels nourishing and replenishing. The colour payoff is sheer but can definitely be built up. I also think the texture is more of a gel-oil hybrid rather than an out-and-out lip oil formula that tends to feel slippier. I suppose that is a nicer way for me to state that they feel like more of a Lip Gloss than anything else. Soz.

While I don’t think these are scented, I do not like the weird scent that they have. It’s overwhelming and applying a layer too many makes my entire body wince.

I got the shade ‘Bengal’ to try. It’s a warm coral shade, which I think will suit a lot of different skin tones.

∴ I do think the formula of these are objectively good and that they a something worth having in one’s collection.
