I got the sample pack a couple of years ago. I had decided to get a full-sized bottle of the scent I enjoyed the most, which I recently did.
THE BACKSTORY: I think I quite like the system of trying out deluxe-sized samples of perfumes before committing to a bigger bottle. I really appreciate when brands offer their fragrance samples for purchase. Anyway, I decided to try out the brand because the aesthetic spoke to me. I was also curious about the different scents they were offering.
This sample pack retailed for $20 USD and contained 5 different variants of 5ml roller-balls. I got the pack with the scents:
- Warm Cotton
- Rain
- Flower Fresh
- Pure Soap
- Soft Laundry
Clean Beauty Classic in ‘Warm Cotton’:
Top Notes: Citrus, Verbena
Middle Notes: Floral Cotton Accord, Orange Flowers, Fruity, Marine
Dry Down: Musk, Amber
A very bright fruity fragrance that perfectly suits summer days. It’s quite a sharp and punchy fruity scent so I didn’t really vibe with it.
Clean Beauty Classic in ‘Flower Fresh’:
Top Notes: Waterlily, Lemon Zest, Bergamot
Middle Notes: Jasmine, Gardenia, Fresh Air Accord
Dry Down: White Amber, Musk, Cashmere Woods
I think this is a lovely, non-offensive floral scent. This would be a great scent for daily use, if you’re into white florals. I also think it’s a good scent to wear in and around the office because it simultaneously does its job and is inconspicuous.
Clean Beauty Classic in ‘Rain’:
Top Notes: Dewy Melon, Daffodil, Watermint
Middle Notes: Spring Daisy, Water Lily, Violet Leaves
Dry Down: Fluid Musks, Sleek Woods
I don’t know why I was expecting the scent of petrichor when I spritzed on this perfume. It’s exactly the opposite of that. It’s a very vibrant fresh, aquatic scent. One can only imagine smelling like this after being drenched in the rain.
Clean Beauty Classic in ‘Pure Soap’:
Top Notes: Aldehydes, Aromatic Accord, Mandarin
Middle Notes: Cyclamen, Jasmine, Lavender
Dry Down: Orange Blossom, Sandalwood, Musk
This smells exactly like the 5 INR paper soap my mother used to buy to use during our travels. It’s so weird. It just smells like soap. Generic soap. I have no other observations about this scent. Imagine the most basic bar of soap. It smells just like that. Perhaps a bit more potent seeing how it’s perfume and all.
Clean Beauty Classic in ‘Soft Laundry’:
Top Notes: Bergamot, Marine Accord, Pear
Middle Notes: Jasmine, Waterlily, Iris
Dry Down: Musk, Amber, Sandalwood
WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER. I actually bought this set solely to try this scent out. I knew I’d love it and I honestly really did. This is the most inoffensive perfume one can use on a regular basis. It smells like freshly laundered clothes and there’s honestly nothing perfume-y about it. It just feels like an extension of the clothes one has on.
I immediately bought a 30 ml bottle of this.
So, after getting my 30 ml bottle, I spritzed it all over my body without sparing a second thought. Imagine my horror when it smelt nothing like the roller-ball I used to drag all over my body!
It had a fresher and sharper scent. Nothing like the warm embrace of newly laundered clothes I’d grown accustomed to.
I chalked it up to being a faulty product and continued using it sporadically.
Many, many months later, while I was trying to get the last bit of juice out of my roller-ball, I noticed it was called ‘Soft Laundry’. Meanwhile, the bigger bottle I’d gotten for myself imagining that soft and sweet goodness, was, in fact, labelled ‘Fresh Laundry’.
JESUS.

Top Notes: Brazilian Orange, Mexican Lime, Fresh Mown Grass
Middle Notes: Rose Otto, Night Blooming Jasmine
Dry down: Heliotrope, Woody Musk
Of course it smelled NOTHING like my love! The notes were completely different! Like I mentioned before, this was a fresher and more citrus-forward scent. Good in its own way, definitely, but it wasn’t what I wanted and longed for.
I finally bought the correct perfume in December and am beyond happy with it. Good ol’ Soft Laundry. I even bought a whopping 60 ml bottle.
This is a lesson in keeping your eyes wide open while shopping, ladies and gents. In fact, do me a solid and keep your eyes wide open at all times.
