Review: Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Lotion.

Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Lotion

Hi, guys. I apologise for not posting anything the last couple of weeks. I had exams… So, today, on the blog, I’m starting Skincare Week! That means one post per day. Of course, you need to keep in mind that these are products that I’ve been using lately and that is the reason why they’re up for review. As much as I’d like to try more skincare products, it’s nearly impossible for me to do so (broke student, finicky skin). Regardless, I really hope you enjoy Skincare Week. It’s going to be a challenge and hopefully, I’ll see you at the end of the tunnel. Wish me luck and here goes nothing!~

*Skincare products are very subjective in nature. Everybody has different skin-types and different needs. Please keep in mind that what works for me may not work for you.

WHAT IS AN EMULSION? An emulsion is normally used before using a moisturiser. Simply put, an emulsion is a light moisturiser. It has a lighter texture and sinks into your skin faster than your generic moisturiser, mostly because they tend to be water based. It works the best for people with oily/combination skin because of the light consistency. You needn’t necessarily follow up with another moisturiser since it is hydrating enough on its own. However, if you have drier skin, it might be better for you to add another lotion or so.

THE PRODUCT: It has a thin, milky gel-like consistency. It gets absorbed almost immediately after you work it into your skin. It is extremely lightweight but it leaves the face feeling supple and hydrated.

I have sensitive, combination skin and I really enjoy this emulsion. It provides me with the right amount of moisture – especially on hotter and more humid days. In Summer, I typically don’t like moisturisers that leave a tacky, sticky feeling to the skin. Instead, I appreciate thinner and more watery products like these, which is exactly why I typically prefer emulsions.

I’ve been using this Green Tea Emulsion since the last month or so and I definitely feel that it is helping me maintain the right amount of moisture in my skin. Sadly, I do not think the Green Tea line is particularly beneficial for those who are looking to see immediate change in skin-texture or are seeking to lighten blemished skin. It may work overtime, if you continue using it, but there’s no instant gratification in those departments.

The entire Green Tea line from Innisfree smells amazing. It’s a fresh and pleasant scent and it’s nothing too overwhelming.

The only thing I would complain about this product is that it doesn’t have a pump-dispenser. The product gets dispensed through a opening that’s the size of your typical water-bottle.

PRICE: $12 – $ 20 (depending on where you purchase it from) for 160 ml.
