Review: Lancôme Juicy Shaker in ‘Cherry Symphony’.

Lancome Juicy Shaker Cherry Symphony

Occasionally, I come across a product that I absolutely love. If it has flaws, I gladly overlook them. But since I have to “review” it, I try not to be biased in my posts. So, here we go. Here’s a product I love and an honest review on it.

THE BACKSTORY: I went on a vacation in January. Things happened (bad things) and it was packed with more trips to the hospital than the shopping mall. Anyway, after spending most of my, erm, vacation money on hospital bills, I tried to be wise with my cosmetic purchases. This Juicy Shaker is one of the things I purchased after hearing and reading so many good things about it. I was over the moon when I discovered that it was indeed a good product.

THE PRODUCT: This is a lip-oil that’s packaged like a cocktail shaker… Sounds gimmicky, I know. It is quite the struggle to whip out of the purse for touch ups. When you shake it, everybody in the world discovers that you are about to touch up.

This is a bi-phased lip oil, which is why you have to shake it up. You have a section of pigment on the bottom and some extremely nourishing oils that sit on top of the pigment. From what I can gather, it contains 4 different types of oils. It contains peach kernel oil, sweet almond oil, cranberry oil and muscat rose oil. After you shake it up and apply it onto the lips, you’ll notice how smooth the lip-oil is. It isn’t tacky/sticky in the slightest. It feels very comfortable on the lips. It’s not as lightweight as I would like it to be; you can definitely feel it on your lips.

It imparts a nice sheen to the lips along with a really sheer tinge of colour. The pigment is nearly-translucent in the lighter colours from the line. The reds and darker pinks show up a lot better.

Oh, another thing I enjoy about this product and I’m assuming you will too is the soft cushion applicator. It is so unbelievably soft and squishy. Sometimes I wonder if it’s the applicator I enjoy more than the product…

“I wish I bought more shades.”

“You fool, you were paying medical bills. I’m surprised you could even afford to buy one.”

Doesn’t look like much, does it? It looks very natural and soft.

SHADES AVAILABLE: There are more than enough shades to satiate your hunger. Different sites show different numbers but Lancome’s official site has 18 shades available currently. Each with a corresponding fragrance and tint.

The one I purchased was ‘151 Cherry Symphony’, a sheer red shade that smells like canned sweet cherries.

PRICE AND QUANTITY: 22 USD approx. for 6.5 ml of product (I paid 2100 INR for it).

AVAILABILITY: Lancôme counters, Sephora, Official Lancôme site etc.

♥ OVERALL: I really like this product. I like it so much that I want to collect more shades. But that’s just stupid of me. What I really want is the K-beauty world to come out with some dupes. Seriously.
