Hi, everyone. Base products work differently for each person. Something that works for your best friend, may not necessarily work for you. That is because everybody has different skin types. Not only that, everybody has different needs – perhaps somebody wants heavier coverage, somebody else might want something lighter and fresher. Always, always take your time to choose your foundations (or any other base product) and if you really, really like what it does, give it a chance.

THE BACKSTORY:  L’OREAL has been a brand that has always surprised me – unlike Revlon, which, I feel never ceases to amaze me. L’OREAL, however, has had products I’ve absolutely despised and products I’ve loved whole-heartedly. Lately, I can only speak kind words about this brand; their newer releases and such are of superb quality and even, arguably, justify the price tag. This foundation is something I bought after much researching and scepticism. I feel like I am extremely hard to please when it comes to base products but my stance on them has softened quite a bit since I fell in love with the Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion. I can say that I quite like this product but I have encountered a few problems with it too.

THE PRODUCT:  The consistency of this foundation, as you can see in the photo below, is quite watery. That is always a good foundation trait because it denotes how blend-able the product is; this foundation goes on smoothly and blends really easily and won’t leave your face all streaky. It has light coverage, with potential for a much greater coverage if you decide to build it up. It is also a hydrating formula, which can be fore-told from its watery consistency. It is available in a wide range of shades and undertones – which makes it easier for you to find your perfect match. It is available in all three undertones – warm, cool and neutral – which kind of means that half of the battle is over. It also promises to improve the appearance of your skin’s quality in two weeks or so. It comes equipped with SPF 17. It is packaged in a sturdy glass bottle with a pump, which ensures that the contents of the foundation is dispensed in a hygienic manner. It feels lightweight on the face and is extremely easy to work with.

One issue you may find with this foundation, though, is that while it does go on smoothly and is extremely blend-able, it settles into fine lines and bumps on your skin and accentuates them to a certain extent. A primer can somewhat hide this.

I do enjoy working with this foundation quite a bit – I usually use only one or two pumps of the foundation, mixed with some sort of moisturiser. That makes it look more dewy and sheer.  Even if my undertone is on the cooler side, I find that this shade works well.
