So I bought a newer flavour of the popular Lip Sleeping Mask from Laneige during Black Friday Sales last year and here it is.

I have a full review of this product, in a different flavour/fragrance, up already. You could check it out, if you’d like.

A little goop of the Mask on a cotton bud.

A lip sleeping mask is like a super-charged moisturiser that works wonders for your lips as you catch up on your beauty sleep. Hence the name. The whole idea is that you apply it before bed every night and wake up with soft, plump lips in the morning.

The texture and consistency of the product is like butter. It’s solid in the jar but as soon as it comes in contact with the heat of your skin, it starts to melt. It’s very easy to spread and apply. It also comes with a silicone spatula that makes application a whole lot more hygienic and easier for you. You could also, of course, just use your clean fingers.

It forms a film of sorts as it sits on top of your lips. By the time you wake up, the next morning, there will be little to no product left on your lips. It gets absorbed as you sleep. It works at melting away all the dead skin from your lips as you sleep. Just wipe off any remnants and go about your day as you please.

If you want it to feel like more of a traditional lip balm, you can use a much smaller amount of it and dab it on your lips.

Say you find it troublesome to use matte lip products in general because of how they dry out your lips… Using this first to prep your lips is a great option. Not only do your lips look better but they also feel a whole lot better because of the care you put in first.

It comes in a hefty glass jar that is colour-coded according to the flavour it houses. This mint blue jar is reminiscent of its “Mint Choco” flavour.

I do enjoy the scent of this particular variant. I’m a sucker for a good minty scent. Even if you don’t like fragrances in your Lip Care products, you can still give it a go because the scent itself is quite faint. While this one smells minty, it doesn’t give you the tingly sensation that most mint-laced products tend to. I mean, it’s there but it barely even registers.

It’s a glorified Lip Balm, y’all. A really good one, at that. If you like it when your lip balms actually do something, you might want to look into this one. This variant is the perfect product for mint and lip balm lovers alike.

PRICE AND QUANTITY: 20,000 KRW (approx. 1261 INR)  for 20 grams of product.

AVAILABILITY: StyleKorean, RoseRoseShop etc (it’s a little more elusive because of its relative novelty).
