Hi, everyone. Guess what? Eyebrow products are making their into the local beauty scene too. Maybelline and L’Oreal both have new products out, made especially for grooming the eyebrows. For my sisters who aren’t that blessed in the eyebrow department, these new products may just be the answer to your prayers!
THE BACKSTORY: I’ve been blessed with full eyebrows and I absolutely love them. Two years ago, I got them threaded and after I came back from the salon, I saw that they had shaped my beloved bushy brows into two thin lines. Ever since, I stopped going to the salon to get my eyebrows done. I pluck them myself, on every alternate day. I don’t really need brow products but I use a combination of two Inglot eyeshadows (mentioned here) when I want a stronger impact. Then, on the flip-side, there’s my best friend/underpaid assistant, Hani, who always keeps complaining about her “unfortunate” brows. Needless to say, she’s very satisfied that someone has answered her prayers.
THE PRODUCT: It comes with two textures of the shade mentioned; on one end, there’s a slim brow pencil and on the other end, there’s a sponge tip that dispenses some mineral shadow of a (somewhat) similar hue. The sponge tip dispenses product lightly but it can be built up. Even the brow pencil isn’t overly pigmented, which makes it fantastic for building up natural looking eyebrows that suit your face as opposed to boxy and High Fashion eyebrows that you keep seeing in magazines. I can say that they withstand humid weather and are quite long-lasting, as well as easy to use. You can use it precisely or even go ham with them, the effect usually remains a lot less harsh than other eyebrow products. (Tip: Grab one while you can!)
Hani is the model here since she has light and sparse brows. I used the shade Grey on her eyebrows. You can see the that the difference is quite noticeable. I used light strokes to fill in the brows and blended it all together with the powder side, since the product doesn’t have a spoolie. You could also just use your fingers to blend it out.

Pros

- The pencil shade shapes the brows beautifully while the powdery side easily fills in the sparse areas.
- You get a good bang out of your buck; they aren't that expensive.
- They are long-lasting.
Cons
- It lacks a spoolie/screw brush, which is understandable.
