You’re So Fly #2

Hi, everyone. This is a series of posts that covers my current favourites and products that I cannot do without. I use a fair amount of products but once I sincerely and wholeheartedly like a product, I never stray away from it. But, for the sake of this blog and to keep things exciting, I end up switching between products even if I already have particular favourites. You can already see all the products in the photo above, but there’s a small explanation of why I like the products and why they work for me down below.

Note: The title of this series is ‘You So Fly’, as a nod to Cube Entertainment’s talented boy group, BTOB. Check out this song here. They’re a pretty awesome group, I feel, and all the boys have their own charms. My favourite is Yook Sungjae, the maknae.

Recently, I haven’t been using a ton of products at once. You’ll find that I’ve stuck to the same ones that I mentioned in my last You’re So Fly outing. I feel like it’s safe for me to say that I am a creature of habit and once I like something, I will use it to death.

For base, the Aritaum Pore Master primer has been my go-to. It’s light and preps my skin for the next step. I’ve been using the Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion in ‘w24 Honey Beige’ for the longest time now. I feel like it’s more practical for me to hit two birds with one stone since it provides sun protection and is a BB Cushion all at once. It covers whatever I wish to conceal and sits well for a whole working day. Best part is, it is portable and you can touch-up on the go. Cushions are ideal for lazy people, I think. ^^

On days my skin looks extra dead (usually a result of too much anime, manga and classes), I use my Revlon Photoready Skinlights Face Illuminator in ‘Pink Light’. It’s a great illuminator and can be used to achieve any kind of glow you want – from the most natural and healthy glow to a full-blown glow. I’ve also been loving the Essence Blush Up Powder Blush in ‘Pinky Flow’. It’s an ombre/gradient blush. It goes from a light pink to a darker, brighter pink. It’s youthful and pretty. Swirl it together and you’ve got a fresh flush of colour on your cheeks.

For eyes, I’ve been far too lazy and I’ve not used eyeliner more than thrice these past couple of months. I’ve just been using the Essence Lash & Brow Gel. Having never used an eyebrow gel before, I don’t know what to compare it to, but I’ve been liking it. It is quite wet when you first brush it through your eyebrows but once it sets, it isn’t wet. I’ve heard that some eyebrow gels result in “hard”/”crunchy” brows but I haven’t ever felt it was the case with this one. It looks great on the lashes too. It’s not as potent as a black mascara. But for those who like a subtle lift, it may just work.

With lipsticks, again, I’ve been even lazier. I’ve stuck with my precious lipbalm, which I conveniently forgot to include in the photo (click here to know just which one it is). I’ve been rotating between two – both by Etude House. One of them is a lip stain, called the Etude House Dear Darling Tint. It dries fast and lasts a long time. What’s more, it smells like grape juice. The shade is a burgundy and is appropriately named ‘Vampire Red’. The other one is more conventional in the sense that it actually is a lipstick. It’s the Etude House Dear My Wish Lips Talk in ‘Secret Love’, a reddish pink. The formula of these lipsticks is top-notch. They’re glossy, insanely pigmented and they glide on like butter.

The Nature Republic Aloe Vera Gel has been another staple. I need to stock up on it; it’s that good. It’s good as a normal moisturiser and it also feels amazing on the skin after a hot day out in the sun.

That’s it for this post. Hopefully, I’ll be a lot more motivated by the next post and I’ll get a chance to share newer things with you guys. ^^
